Unutulmaz görüntüler yaratma konusunda bir sihirbaz olan Werner Herzog’un ilk (ve kendi deyimiyle son) üç boyutlu filmi, Fransa’da 32.000 yıl öncesine tarihlenen görkemli Chauvet mağarasında yer alan insanlık tarihinin ilk çizimlerinin görüntüleriyle bilim adamları ve tarihçilerle yapılan söyleşilerden oluşuyor. 1994’te keşfedilen ve normalde halka kapalı olan mağara, Fransız Kültür Bakanlığı’ndan alınan özel izinle Herzog’a açıldı.
