Buraya aslında kentin dillere destan gay seks yaşantısı için gelen karakterimiz, küçük bir motele yerleşir ve İngilizce özel dersi vererek geçimini sürdürmeyi hedefler. Kaldığı yerde tanıştığı Jean Ross ile de yakın arkadaş olan Isherwood, Berlin’i her yönden fazlasıyla tanıyacaktır.
