Film, 19. yüzyılın Viktorya dönemi atmosferinde geçer ve Victor adında utangaç bir adamın hikayesini anlatır. Victor, nişanlısı Victoria ile evlenmek üzereyken yanlışlıkla ölüler diyarından Emily adında bir ölü gelini diriltir. Emily, Victor’u kocası zanneder ve onu ölüler dünyasına götürür. Victor, gerçek aşkı Victoria'ya geri dönmeye çalışırken, iki dünya arasında gidip gelen karmaşık bir macera yaşanır.
