Sosyetenin genç, güzel ve çekici kadınlarından Judith Traherne'e (Davis) beyin tümörü teşhisi konduktan sonra kendisini ameliyat eden yakışıklı beyin cerrahı ile arasında romantik bir ilişki başlar. Doktor onun kısa bir ömrü kaldığını bilmesine rağmen Judith ile evlenir. Ve kısa bir süre sonra Judith gerçek aşkı keşfeder.
