Overlook’ta yaşadığı travmayı bir türlü üzerinden atlatamayan Dan, uzun süre huzur bulabilmek için mücadele etmiştir. Dan, o güne dek tanık olmadığı güçte “parıltı” olarak tabir ettiği yeteneğe sahip olan Abra ile tanıştığında geçmişiyle barışır. Abra’nın hayatta kalabilmesi için daha önce hiç olmadığı kadar güçlü bir şekilde korkularıyla yüzleşerek ölüm ve yaşam arasında büyük bir mücadele içine girmesi gerekmektedir.
