Ray Kinsella ( Kevin Costner), ailesiyle Iowa'ya yeni yerleşmiş ve çiftçiliğe başlamıştır. Bir gün yine tarlasında çalışırken gizemli bir sesin ona "İnşa ederse geleceklerini" söyler. Ray bunu tek şekilde yorumlar : ses, tarlasına beysbol stadyumu inşa etmesini söylemektedir. Eşi bu yoruma çok güvenmese de Ray'e kalbindeki sesi dinlemesini söyler. Ray stadyumu inşa etmeye başlar, bu sırada gizemli sesler kendisini bir beysbol uzmanı olan Terence Man'e (James Earl Jones) yönlendirir ve ikili Ray'e gaipten ve düşlerinde gelen mesajların izini sürmeye başlar... Bu mesajlar ikiliyi tek kelimeyle inanılmaz bir maceraya sürükleyecektir.
