"5 Numara", bir laboratuvarda üretilmiş bir grup askeri ölümcül robottan biridir. Bir gün üzerine yıldırım düşmesiyle kısa devre yaparak bir uyanış yaşar ve bilinçlenir. Laboratuvardan kaçmayı başaran 5 Numara, yeniden programlanarak eski fabrika ortamına geri dönmekten çok korkmaktadır. Kendisini üretenlere yaşamakta olduğunu ispatlamaya çalışır. Bu sırada genç bir kadın ona yardımcı olacaktır.
