Ailesini kaybeden bir erkek çocuk vahşi ormanın derinliklerinde bir ayı, bir siyah panter ve bir kurt sürüsü tarafından büyütülür. Bagheera, Mowgli’ye bu macerada akıl hocalığı yapacaktır. Canlı-aksiyon ve epik türündeki bu hikayede, kurtlar tarafından yetiştirilen Mowgli evi bildiği tek yeri terketmek zorunda kalınca, hem kendisini hem dış dünyayı keşfetmek için yeni bir arayışa çıkacaktır. Rudyard Kipling‘in klasik çocuk romanından uyarlanan filmin yönetmenliğini Jon Favreau sırtlarken uyarlama senaryo ise Justin Marks’a ait. Disney tarafından hayata geçirilen filmin orijinal seslendirme kadrosunda ise Ben Kingsley ve Neel Sethi isimleri başı çekerken kadroda onlara Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba, Bill Murray, Christopher Walken, Lupita Nyong'o ve Giancarlo Esposito isimleri yer alıyor.
