Bette Midler, Rose rolüyle başarısı içki, uyuşturucu ve hızlı yaşam ile gölgelenmiş ve sonunda çöküşünü hazırlamış bir Rock yıldızını canlandırıyor. Kendi yarattığı cehennemin içinde hapsolan Rose, menajerine (Alan Bates) konser turu sırasında küçük bir tatil için yalvarır. Menajeri olmaz diyince, rahatlığı ve aşkı yakışıklı bir serseride (Frederic Forrest) arar fakat o bile Rose'un aşırılığına ayak uyduramaz.
